Ricardo Arias: "Playing in white is a very wise decision"

Ricardo Arias, club ambassador and Valencia CF legend, spoke to VCF Media Radio after the announcement that the team will play the Copa del Rey final in a white kit.
"It seems like a very good idea to me. It is a very wise decision, for many reasons. It's a chance to remember and pay homage to the past.
The white shirt and white shorts is a beautiful thing.. We have become accustomed to seeing Valencia CF compete in the finals of major competitions dressed in all-white. Also, it brings us luck," said the club ambassador.
"When you finish the game and you see that your kit isn't so clean, you know that you have given everything. When you wear white, you cannot hide the effort put in, and you know who has participated in the battle and who has not."
On the team' chances of another Copa del Rey trophy, Arias commented that "Valencia CF have had a great cup competition this year, although people will say that we have faced easy opponents. When you reach a final, it's because you deserve it. Valencia CF are worthy finalists, although Betis are favourites and the final is being played in Seville. If these details such as the choice of kits increase the confidence of the players, then we could be able to bring the ninth Copa del Rey back to Valencia."
"Nobody gave us a chance three years ago when we were going to play against Messi's FC Barcelona. However, Valencia CF come good in the big events. We were a competitive team, ambitious, hungry and with faith in ourselves. This team will receive more criticism than praise, but they can beat Betis -or any other team- in one game."
